This is just the beginning…

Wow. Finally doing the damn thing. Welcome to the beginning of my new life.

I had an introduction podcast explaining why I created it but I messed up somewhere. When I went to replay the session, the audio was really low. (Whoops!) So here I am explaining once again. There are three reason why I started this podcast adventure. First, boredom. I just graduated college, I was working a 9-5 (yes guys, that life is the worst), and I was missing some kind of creative stimulation. For the first couple of weeks, I was watching Keeping up with the Kardashians from season one. By the time I reached Khloé & Lamar’s wedding I was waayyy too invested. Thus, this podcast was born.

Second, I want to be a better communicator and public speaker. I can have trouble with my tone and want to have a better grip on it. In addition, my foot is always in my mouth. Not to mention I hate the sound of my voice on recordings. I am hoping once I consistently start recording I will be more cognizant of what the hell is coming out of my mouth when I’m on AND off the mic. All in all, I want to strength my communication skills between myself, my family and peeps.

Third, I wanted to create a space for myself. In a world with many labels, boxes to check, and criteria to have sometimes it can be hard to let go of what you’ve always known to be a better version of yourself. So here I am. This is me being Adu. Until I discover a better Adu. Then (hopefully)that Adu will better for myself and my loved ones and so on. The possibilities are endless. Eventually, I want to bring on so many different types of people and cover a vast majority of topics. But for right now? It’s definitely just going to be me talking my shit. In addition to my friends validating (and maybe not validating) my shit with their own shit.

Although this website was meant to be solely for my podcast, I warmed up to the idea of blogging alongside it. I mean considering it just came to the rescue with this introduction fiasco I can’t deny its resourcefulness. Any post reflections and discoveries will be written and posted about.
